As a sculptor I use fiber, plaster, and wood to explore time as a theme. My work attempts to exhibit a desire to suspend time, such that a simultaneity of life’s events occur all-at-once. Self-termed as “all-at-onceness”, creates a connection between personal experiences, and their location and materials. My works are the location of the binding of time, memory, and material. The accumulation of human experiences is represented by the collection of materials in my work. Through these materials and time spent relating to people I gain: insight into their lives, insight into our shared experiences, and a deeper comprehension of our existence. As a result of my work, the viewer can have the opportunity to experience multiple lives.
